AICTE Warns Against Fake 10-Day MBA Courses, Calls Them Misleading and Inappropriate

AICTE has published guidelines for online and distance learning program

The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), the regulatory authority for technical education, has issued a warning to students about fake 10-day MBA crash courses. This caution comes after a motivational speaker advertised such a program.

The Union Education Ministry said that AICTE recognition is crucial for any institution to run an MBA program in the country. AICTE Vice-Chairman, Abhay Jere, said, “It has come to the notice of AICTE that some motivational speakers and influencers are offering a 10-day MBA crash course.”

Jere said that such programs are an attempt to misguide the youth, and he referred to a Supreme Court judgment, stating that no institution or university can offer technical courses, including MBA, without approval from AICTE.

He said, “An MBA is a two-year postgraduate degree course designed to equip individuals with advanced skills and knowledge in various aspects of business and management. An MBA program leading to a degree cannot be completed in 10 days.”

The AICTE official further cautioned, “The MBA crash course offered by such individuals or organizations is misleading and inappropriate. All stakeholders and students are advised to be cautious and not fall prey to such fraudulent offers.”
