A 28-year-old man allegedly hacked six members of his family to death, including his wife and two young sons, in Telangana’s Ranga Reddy district in the early hours of Saturday. Police have launched an investigation and are examining whether a previously registered POCSO case against the accused was the motive behind the killings.
The incident took place in Daivalaguda village under Shabad mandal, sending shockwaves through the area.
Wife, Two Children Among the Victims
According to police, the accused, identified as Raj Kumar, allegedly killed his wife Parvathi Saritha (30), their two sons, Parikshit (3) and Daivikshit (2), Chityala Rukkamma (65), Chityala Lakshmi (45), and a 17-year-old girl.
Police said all six victims suffered multiple stab injuries.
Investigators suspect the murders may have been linked to a long-standing dispute after a case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act was earlier registered against Raj Kumar. Officials are investigating whether that case acted as the immediate trigger for the attack.
Accused Allegedly Confessed to Parents
According to the police, Raj Kumar allegedly called his parents after the incident and confessed that he had killed the six family members.
His parents reportedly informed the police, following which officers rushed to the village and secured the crime scene.
Forensic experts collected evidence from the house, while the bodies were shifted for post-mortem examination.
Police Register Case, Investigation Underway
Police have registered a case and are investigating the sequence of events, the motive behind the killings, and other circumstances surrounding the incident.
Senior police officers visited the spot and are personally supervising the investigation.
Victims’ Relatives Protest, Allege Police Negligence
Following the incident, relatives of the victims staged a protest outside the Shabad Police Station, accusing the police of failing to prevent the tragedy despite earlier complaints against the accused.
The protesters alleged that although a case had previously been registered against Raj Kumar, the police did not take adequate action.
They demanded disciplinary action against the Circle Inspector (CI) and Sub-Inspector (SI) of Shabad Police Station, claiming that timely intervention could have prevented the killings.
Additional police personnel were deployed outside the police station to maintain law and order as the protest continued.
