Ahead of India’s 80th Independence Day, students of Madarsa Nizamia took out a flag rally in the border village of Gundi Qazimora in Jammu and Kashmir as part of the nationwide ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign.
The rally saw the participation of local residents and others, with students carrying the Tricolour and remembering those who sacrificed their lives during the country’s freedom struggle.
Speaking at the event, Shaban Raza Chishti, chairman of the Nazamia Welfare Trust and a member of the All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB), Jammu and Kashmir, highlighted the responsibilities of young people towards the country.
“Today, students from Madarsa Nizamia organised a rally in which local residents and many others participated. Today, we remembered the martyrs, those who sacrificed their children and their own lives for the sake of the nation,” Chishti said.
He also urged young people to focus on education and work towards tackling social problems.
“Just as our armed forces protect our borders, our young people must educate themselves to eradicate the evils spreading in our society, such as the menace of drugs,” he said.
Doda Police Hold Bike Rally
Meanwhile, the Doda Police also organised a bike rally in the town as part of the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign to promote patriotism and national unity.
The rally began at the District Police Office and passed through several parts of Doda, including the Nagri Tondwa area, before concluding at the Sports Stadium. Police personnel and participants carried the Tricolour during the procession.
Assistant Superintendent of Police Mohd Aslam said the rally was aimed at spreading the spirit of patriotism associated with the month of Independence.
“The underlying message is one of patriotism, a spirit that defines this month of independence,” Aslam said.
He said security arrangements had also been strengthened for the celebrations.
“We have put all appropriate security measures in place. We have increased checkpoints and intensified patrols. Everything necessary is being done in coordination with other security forces,” he said.
‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ Events Across J&K
The ‘Har Ghar Tiranga 2026’ campaign will feature a range of activities across districts, blocks and panchayats.
The programme includes Tiranga rallies and processions, exhibitions, concerts, bike and cycle rallies, Tricolour lighting of important locations, decorations and Rangoli programmes.
This year’s celebrations will also include activities under the theme “Tiranga Salute to the Spirit of Vande Mataram”, along with the “Selfie with Tiranga” initiative.
The campaign will encourage people to hoist the National Flag at their homes and government offices, with events planned across the country ahead of Independence Day on August 15.
