Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) President Mayawati has expressed disappointment with the Muslim community for not understanding her party despite being given adequate representation. In a recent statement, Mayawati said that future considerations for ticket distribution to Muslim candidates would be reconsidered to avoid electoral losses.

“Muslims have failed to understand the BSP, even though we have given them adequate representation,” said Mayawati. She noted that the BSP would now “think twice before giving tickets to Muslims” to prevent the party from suffering similar setbacks in the future.

Acknowledging the role played by Dalits in the party’s better performance, she expressed her gratitude. “Dalits have ensured our better performance in the polls. I thank my community for their continued support,” she said.

Addressing the low voter turnout, Mayawati attributed it to the adverse weather conditions and extreme heat. She urged the Election Commission to consider such factors when finalizing election dates. “The Election Commission should ensure in future that these aspects are kept in mind while finalizing dates for polls,” she stated.

“The election process should not be stretched for long since it has an adverse impact on the voter’s mindset,” she said.
