Pulwama attack

Bilal Ahmad Kuchay, an accused in the Pulwama attack, died from cardiac arrest at the Government Medical College (GMC) in Jammu late on Monday night. Kuchay, who was the son of Ghulam Nabi Kuchay from Pulwama, had been incarcerated in a Jammu division jail and had been unwell for about a week before his death.

According to officials, he received treatment in jail before being transferred to GMC Jammu. His brother, Muzaffar Kuchay, confirmed that he was undergoing medical treatment when he passed away.

Kuchay was arrested in 2020 for allegedly providing logistical support to militants involved in the 2019 Pulwama suicide attack, which resulted in the deaths of at least 40 CRPF personnel. Further proceedings regarding his death are ongoing.
