Minorities, BC Groups to Hold Support March for Siddaramaiah Amid Corruption Allegations

Siddaramaiah

The National Ahinda Organisation, a non-political social movement that aims to ensure social justice for Karnataka’s minorities and backward classes, has decided to hold a march in support of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on October 3.

The body has vowed to support ‘Ahinda leader’ Siddaramaiah in relation to the corruption allegations against him and requested the Congress leader not to resign as Karnataka Chief Minister.

“The National Ahinda Organisation will launch a constitutional awareness march from Hubballi to Bengaluru, to save our Ahinda leader (Siddaramaiah).

All organisation leaders from backward classes, Dalits and Ahindas will take part in this protest. We will spread awareness amongst Ahindas, while backing Siddaramaiah, he must not resign at any cost, and he has our support”, Ahinda state president Muttanna Shivalli said.

Siddaramaiah is the face and a strategist of the Ahinda movement, which stands for Alpasankhyataru (minorities), Hindulidavaru (backward classes), and Dalitaru (dalits).

Meanwhile, Siddaramaiah’s Cabinet has also decided to withdraw its earlier notification granting unrestricted permission for the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to conduct investigations in the state.

Earlier on Thursday, the BJP staged a protest and demanded Siddaramaiah resign as Chief Minister a day after a Special Court in Karnataka ordered a Lokayukta police investigation against him in the alleged Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) site allotment scam case.

The Muda case pertains to allegations that compensatory sites were allotted to Siddaramaiah’s wife BM Parvathi in an upmarket area in Mysuru that had higher property value as compared to the location of her land that had been ‘acquired’ by the authorities.

Muda had allotted plots to Parvathi under a 50:50 ratio scheme in lieu of 3.16 acres of her land, where the authorities developed a residential layout.
