Science and Technology Minister Jitendra Singh on Tuesday extended an invitation to Israeli startups to collaborate with Indian firms under the National Quantum Mission. Singh made the offer during a meeting with Israel’s Industry and Economy Minister Nir Barkat in New Delhi.

Singh said, “India and Israel can supplement each other in this domain – India with its large market, manpower, and opportunities, and Israel with its cutting-edge innovation.”

The National Quantum Mission, Singh explained, aims to develop quantum technologies for applications in communication, cryptography, and computing. He highlighted the role Israeli startups could play in co-developing critical technologies, leveraging their expertise for mutual benefit.

The two leaders also discussed expanding collaborations in areas like space, quantum technology, agriculture, and health. Singh said, “Since opening the space sector to private players, India has seen a surge in startups, showcasing its emergence as a global space technology hub.”

The ministers explored opportunities in semiconductors, artificial intelligence, and the Internet of Things.

Singh encouraged Israeli companies to view India as a reliable partner in these critical domains, citing India’s progress in indigenous tech development, including mobile manufacturing and the 5G rollout.
