Ahmedabad Mosque Opens Doors to Hindu and Muslim Families Amid City Water Crisis

Ahmedabad Mosque Welcomes Hindus, Muslims Amid Water Crisis

In Ahmedabad, Gujarat, a local mosque opened its doors to people of all religions during a severe water shortage, showing a remarkable example of communal harmony. A video shared widely on social media shows Hindu and Muslim families lining up inside the mosque to fill their water containers, including women, children, and elderly residents.

The mosque management acted quickly when the municipal water supply became irregular. “There should be no conditions or distinctions based on identity when it comes to necessities like water,” said a mosque official. “It is every person’s duty to help when their neighbors are in need. A mosque is not just a place of prayer, but also a center for serving the community.”

Residents expressed relief and gratitude for the support. One local woman said, “At that moment, religion or identity did not matter. We were simply happy to have water for our children and the elderly.”

The gesture has received widespread praise on social media, with users calling it a “victory for humanity” and a reminder that compassion can rise above divisions. The mosque’s action highlights that in times of hardship, helping others is more important than differences in faith, sending a powerful message of love, trust, and social unity.
