Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath praised the fusion of devotion and power, which he termed “bhakti and shakti,” for the successful construction of the grand Ram temple in Ayodhya, breaking what he referred to as “500 years of slavery.”
Speaking at the Geeta Bhakti Amrit Mahotsav in Maharashtra’s Pune district, Adityanath also hailed Maratha warrior king Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj for challenging the authority of Mughal emperor Aurangzeb.
Adityanath said the consecration ceremony of Ram Lalla’s idol at the Ayodhya temple, held on January 22 this year was a monumental moment facilitated by the convergence of devotion and power.
He highlighted Maharashtra’s spiritual legacy, stating that saints have blessed the state for centuries. Adityanath attributed Maharashtra’s valorous history to its association with revered saints and celebrated figures like Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.
Recalling a visit to Agra after assuming office, Adityanath mentioned renaming a museum project from “Mughal museum” to one honouring Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, highlighting the state’s connection with him over the Mughals.
Additionally, Adityanath lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s announcement of a defence corridor in Uttar Pradesh, dedicated to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Through such initiatives, he expressed confidence in the armed forces’ journey towards self-reliance.
The remarks by Adityanath underscore the significance of spiritual devotion and historical valour in shaping India’s cultural and political landscape.
