BSF Detains Bangladeshi National Shariful Islam Bhuiyan Near Jammu Border, Hands Him Over to Police

The Border Security Force (BSF) has handed over a Bangladeshi national to the Border Police Post Gajansoo, which comes under Police Station Kanachak, after he was apprehended near the International Border in Jammu district.

Officials said the man has been identified as Shariful Islam Bhuiyan, son of Mozibul Haque Bhuiyan, aged 19. He is a resident of Adra village in the Comilla district of Bangladesh.

According to officials, the youth was detained during routine border surveillance in the Gajansoo area. “The apprehension was made as part of regular patrolling along the International Border,” an official said.

After completing initial procedures, the BSF handed him over to the local police. “Following preliminary formalities, the individual was transferred to the police for further legal action,” the official added.

Police said they have begun questioning the youth to understand how and why he reached the border area. “Questioning has been initiated to ascertain the circumstances that led to his presence near the International Border,” police said, adding that further investigation is currently underway.
