A 13-year-old Dalit girl was allegedly raped in Amethi’s Fursatganj area on December 30, police said on Wednesday. The minor was reportedly dragged to a tube-well in a field by a youth from the same village, who then assaulted her and threatened to kill her if she spoke about the incident.
After returning home, the traumatized girl confided in her mother, who immediately filed a police complaint. An FIR has been registered under relevant sections of the POCSO Act and SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act.
Station House Officer Nand Hausla Yadav confirmed the case, stating, “Multiple police teams have been formed, and the accused will be arrested soon.” Authorities are conducting raids in the area as part of their investigation.
