In Madhya Pradesh’s Chhatarpur district, a Dalit woman was brutally assaulted by a sarpanch’s husband and representative after she demanded the return of her money meant for a government housing scheme.

The incident took place in Manetha village under Prithvipur Janpad of Niwari district. A video of the assault has gone viral on social media, sparking widespread outrage.

In the clip, the woman, identified as Shanti Ahirwar, can be seen lying on the ground as the accused, Rajkumar Sahu, holds her hands with one hand and repeatedly slaps her with the other.

According to reports, Shanti had given ₹10,000 to Sahu to help her get a house under a government scheme. However, when she did not receive any benefit, she asked him to return the money. This led to an argument, after which Sahu allegedly attacked her in the middle of the road.

Despite the woman filing a formal complaint with local authorities, no action has reportedly been taken against the accused so far.

The viral video has triggered anger across social media, with many users demanding immediate arrest and strict punishment for Sahu.
