‘Drug-Rape Racket’ Targeting Minor Hindu Girls in Hyderabad, Alleges BJP’s Bandi Sanjay Kumar

Union Minister and BJP leader Bandi Sanjay Kumar has alleged that a “drug-rape racket” is operating in parts of Hyderabad’s Old City, claiming it targets minor girls from migrant Hindu families from West Bengal. Referring to his allegations as “The Hyderabad Files,” Kumar compared the situation to the crime series Kerala Crime Files, and said the issue exposes a deep criminal network in the city.

According to Kumar, young Hindu girls are being lured with drug-laced chocolates, then kidnapped, drugged, and sexually assaulted. He further alleged that videos of the attacks are recorded and used to blackmail the victims into bringing other girls into the network.

Kumar accused the Hyderabad police of ignoring complaints due to “political pressure” from the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM). “The police are closing cases without proper investigation. If the government doesn’t act, Hindu protection squads will be formed in Old City,” he warned, calling on Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy to take immediate action.

However, Hyderabad police have rejected the claims. Charminar Station House Officer (SHO) Ramesh told NDTV that an investigation had been conducted after a girl was reported missing, but there was “no evidence” of sexual or drug abuse. “A case of abduction was registered because the girl was a minor, even though she said she went with the accused willingly. She has been sent to the Bharosa Centre for counselling,” the officer said.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Sneha Mehra also said that the police would investigate any new information provided by the Union minister. “If the minister gives us details, we will certainly probe and register cases,” she said.
