E Abubackar Named Among 100 Most Influential Muslims in India by Minority Media Foundation

E Abubacker, the former president of the Popular Front of India, has been named in the list of the 100 Most Influential Muslims in India for 2024. The list was released by the Minority Media Foundation and Muslim Mirror.

Abubacker was among the first Popular Front of India (PFI) leaders detained by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) on September 22, 2022, as part of a statewide crackdown on the organisation. Accused of coordinating efforts to establish an Islamic State in India by 2047,

The list includes leaders from renowned Muslim organizations as well as unsung heroes who have made contributions in their respective fields. It is compiled by assessing operational excellence, leadership abilities, and social transformation in various fields.

Syed Zubair Ahmed, founding editor of Muslim Mirror, stated that the list was formed to counter the corporate media conglomerate’s agenda of presenting Muslims negatively. 

The individuals on the list have made major contributions to the country and community.

The list was put together including members of different Muslim communities from Kashmir to Kanyakumari, and from Assam to Gujarat.

AR Rahman, AP Abubakar Musliar, Amir Idrisi, Amir Khan, Abdul Hameed Naumani, Abdul Qadir Fasalani, Abdul Qadir, Abdullah Kunhi, Salman Khan, and Arshad Madani are on the list of 100.

The initiative also includes individuals facing legal challenges and jail, emphasizing the principle that they are accused, not convicted. This approach emphasizes their accomplishments despite the challenges they confront, reinforcing the value of justice and fairness.
