mob lynching

Whether it be in Bangladesh, Pakistan, or India, the rising religious fanaticism in society is impacting the minds of teenagers.

One such disturbing example came to light in Bihar’s Muzaffarpur, where a group of five-six boys assaulted a Muslim teenager and forced him to chant ‘Jai Shri Ram’.

A video clip of the incident went viral on social media, showing one boy assaulting the Muslim minor by choking his throat with his leg for refusing to chant ‘Jai Shri Ram’. The victim’ s father filed a complaint at Mithanpura police station, and ASP Bhanu Pratap Singh, a senior police official, confirmed the incident.

The incident occurred when the boy refused to chant a particular religious slogan and was subsequently beaten up by five to six boys. Following the viral video, the Muzaffarpur police launched an investigation, leading to the arrest of three boys Sant Kumar, Chandan, and Golu, involved in the matter.

It is said that the incident occurred following a dispute during a cricket match on Mahashivratri, which led to this incident.

The Muslim minor, Rehan, who was assaulted was returning home after playing cricket when he was surrounded by a group of five to six boys who forced him to chant slogans. Senior police officials became aware of the video, which reportedly happened three days ago.

City ASP Bhanu Pratap Singh instructed the in-charge of Mithanpura police station to take immediate action in the case. The police have identified the individuals seen in the video and are conducting raids to apprehend all of them, according to a local Hindi news channel.
