The custody transfer of Monu Manesar, the prime suspect in the July 31 violence in Nuh district, has hit a roadblock due to “security concerns” raised by the Rajasthan Police.

Monu, currently incarcerated at the Ajmer High Security Jail, was to be produced in the Pataudi court on Tuesday in connection with an attempted murder case registered against him at the Pataudi police station.

Personnel from the Rajasthan Police informed the Pataudi court on Monday that Monu’s transfer required heightened security measures, but they lacked the necessary personnel to ensure his safe transportation from Ajmer to Gurugram.

This development has delayed the Haryana Police’s efforts to take Monu into custody. In response to this setback, a senior officer from the Gurugram police stated that they would submit a fresh request and have extended an offer to the Rajasthan Police to provide their own staff and guards to facilitate Monu’s transfer to the Pataudi court.
