A minor boy in Class 2 was found dead under mysterious circumstances at DL Public School in Hathras on Wednesday, September 25.
His father, Krishan Kushwaha, was informed that his son had fallen ill and was being taken to the hospital by the school director, Dinesh Baghel. However, Kushwaha later discovered his son’s body in Baghel’s car.
In a shocking update, police revealed the boy was murdered as part of a black magic ritual intended to bring success to the school.
Five people, including the director and three teachers, have been arrested. Police say the suspects had previously attempted a similar act on another boy, which was unsuccessful.
Hathras SP Nipun Agarwal while talking to the media confirmed that the school director Dinesh Baghel, his father Jashodhan Singh, and three professors identified as Laxman Singh, Veerpal Singh, and Ramprakash Solanki were all involved in the murder.
“The boy was sacrificed as part of a ritual for the school’s supposed success and glory. We are investigating if any other individuals were involved in the murder,” he said.
According to the police inquiry, Baghel’s father believed in black magic and tantrik rituals, as did his son and the three teachers.
D L Public School has approximately 600 students, and the hostel where the boy was murdered houses kids from classes 1–5. The dead child was the son of Krishan Kushwaha, a software developer at a Delhi-based private enterprise, OpIndia reported.
On the morning of Monday, September 23, a staff member and students found the boy motionless in his hostel bed. Instead of reporting the death, the school director, Dinesh Baghel, attempted to hide the crime by placing the boy’s body in his car and driving to hospitals in Agra and Aligarh for several hours.
The boy’s family, from Tursen, Hathras, was informed that their son was unwell and being taken to the hospital, but when they arrived at the school, they couldn’t locate him. Sensing something was wrong, the boy’s father, Krishan Kushwaha, contacted the local police.
A manhunt was initiated for Baghel, and a few hours later, authorities found the boy’s body, showing signs of neck injuries, in Baghel’s vehicle.
A senior police officer confirmed, “The boy’s body was found in the director’s car after the family raised the alarm.” An autopsy revealed the boy died from strangulation on Sunday night. A murder case has been filed against the five accused under BNS section 103(1).
