Iran Mocks Trump’s Claims of Talks, Says US “Negotiating With Itself”

Iran rejects Donald Trump’s claims of negotiations, calling them an attempt to mask defeat amid ongoing conflict.

Iran has strongly rejected claims by Donald Trump that negotiations are underway to end the ongoing conflict, with its top military command mocking Washington’s statements.

In a sharp response, Iran’s Khatam al-Anbia Headquarters said the United States is “negotiating with itself” and accused it of trying to present defeat as diplomacy.

“Do Not Call Your Defeat an Agreement”

In a video shared by Iranian media, a military spokesperson criticised Trump’s remarks, saying, “The strategic power you used to boast about has now turned into a strategic defeat. Do not label your defeat as an ‘agreement’.”

The spokesperson dismissed US claims of progress in talks, adding, “No truth-seeker will be deceived by your media waves.”

He also pointed to internal challenges within the US, saying the situation had reached a stage where Washington was “negotiating with themselves.”

Iran Rejects Any Possibility of Deal

Iran made it clear that it is not willing to compromise with the US or Israel under current conditions.

“Our first and last word… has been, is, and will remain: someone like us will never come to terms with someone like you. Not now, and not ever,” the spokesperson said.

He stressed that stability in the region would only come through Iran’s military strength. “Stability is guaranteed only by the powerful hand of our armed forces,” he added.

War of Narratives Between Washington and Tehran

The strong reaction comes after Trump claimed that the US has “won” the war and that Iran’s military capabilities have been largely destroyed.

Trump had said, “Their navy is gone, their air force is gone… pretty much everything they have is gone,” and claimed that Iran is ready to make a deal.

However, Iranian officials have repeatedly denied any ongoing negotiations and insisted that peace can only come if US and Israeli military actions stop.

Rising Tensions and Continued Strikes

Even as diplomatic claims and counterclaims continue, the situation on the ground remains tense. Iran has continued retaliatory strikes, signalling that the conflict is far from over.

Reports suggest multiple rounds of attacks have been carried out, indicating that both sides are still engaged militarily despite talk of negotiations.

Signals of Limited Diplomatic Movement

Amid the escalating rhetoric, there are also signs of limited diplomatic manoeuvring. Israeli media reports suggest temporary immunity has been granted to senior Iranian leaders such as Abbas Araghchi and Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf during a possible negotiation window.

This move is seen as an attempt to keep diplomatic channels open, even as tensions remain high.
