Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi, has rolled out a sweeping fee hike for the 2025–26 academic year, with more than half of its programs facing increases of 30 per cent or more. The sharpest jump comes in the B.A. (Hons.) Social Work program, where fees have surged by 147.47 percent—from ₹7,425 to ₹18,375—marking the steepest increase in the university this year.

Special Education have risen by 88.77 percent, while the M.Ed. programs and their specialisations saw hikes of 86.55 percent. The M.A. (Early Childhood Development) course posted an 89.53 percent increase.

13 Programs Cross 75% Mark

Fourteen programs across different faculties have seen hikes exceeding 75 percent. Fine Arts, Social Sciences, Engineering & Technology, Management, and Education faculties all appear on the list, indicating a campus-wide restructuring of fees.

Jamia has not yet released an official explanation for the sharp revisions. The new rates are expected to significantly raise the cost of higher education for students across undergraduate, postgraduate, and professional programs.
