A fresh controversy has surfaced ahead of the world-famous Holi celebrations in Mathura after Dinesh Falahari Maharaj, the main petitioner in the Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi Temple case, wrote to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath demanding that members of the Muslim community be kept away from the Holi festivities in Brij.

In his letter, Falahari Maharaj said that Holi is a sacred Hindu festival and should be celebrated without any unrest or controversy. He urged the Chief Minister to ensure that Muslims are not allowed to set up shops around temples during the festival. He claimed that such steps were necessary to maintain the sanctity and peaceful atmosphere of the celebrations.

Falahari Maharaj also said that some people allegedly sell colours during festivals by changing their names or hiding their identities. According to him, this could affect the purity of the festival. He demanded that the administration take strict action in such cases.

Several sages and saints from Mathura have reportedly supported his demand. They said that the Holi of Brij is famous across the world and should be organised in a peaceful and sacred environment. They also called for special attention to security and law and order during the festival.

Dinesh Falahari Maharaj has been in the news earlier as well. He had earlier claimed that he would not consume food until the mosque was removed from what he believes to be the birthplace of Lord Krishna in the Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi dispute.

At present, the letter remains an appeal, and no official response has been made public. Local residents say they want the Holi celebrations to take place with peace and enthusiasm as they do every year.
