Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday launched a sharp attack on the Congress party, accusing it of trying to defame India during the recent AI summit in New Delhi. Addressing a large gathering in Ajmer, he said that the Congress, frustrated by repeated electoral defeats, has transformed into “Muslim League Maoist Congress (MMC).”
“Recently, Delhi hosted the world’s biggest Artificial Intelligence summit. Leaders from across the globe praised India. Yet the Congress chose to defame the country in front of international guests,” Modi said, referring to the incident where members of the Indian Youth Congress reportedly removed jackets to reveal T-shirts with Modi’s image while raising anti-national slogans inside the summit hall.
He compared the Congress to historical groups and insurgents, saying, “History bears witness that the Muslim League hated India. Maoists oppose India’s prosperity and Constitution. Today Congress behaves the same way, ambushing and defaming the nation.”
Modi Highlights Military Achievements
The Prime Minister contrasted Congress’s tenure with his government’s record, alleging that the party had historically deprived soldiers of proper equipment and delayed One Rank One Pension (OROP). In contrast, Modi said, the Indian Army has achieved decisive victories in operations ranging from surgical strikes to Operation Sindoor.
“Congress opposes everything good for the nation. During our tenure, the army has been victorious on every front, yet Congress has perpetuated the enemy’s lies,” he said.
Development Projects and Welfare Initiatives Launched
During the event, Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation of multiple development projects in Rajasthan worth over Rs 16,680 crore. He also launched a nationwide Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination campaign for 14-year-old girls to prevent cervical cancer.
Over 21,800 appointment letters were distributed to newly recruited youth across government departments in Rajasthan. Modi lauded the state government under Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma for implementing welfare schemes and curbing incidents of paper leaks.
Criticism of Congress Rule in Rajasthan
Modi criticized Congress’s governance in Rajasthan, citing corruption, internal factionalism, and stalled irrigation projects. He highlighted initiatives by the BJP-led state government, including linking rivers and completing pending irrigation projects.
He concluded by praising Rajasthan’s “double-engine” government, asserting that it has put the state on a fast track to development while ensuring social welfare and youth employment.
Other dignitaries present at the event included Governor Haribhau Bagade, former CM Vasundhara Raje, Union Minister of State for Agriculture Bhagirath Chaudhary, and Deputy Chief Ministers Diya Kumari and Prem Chand Bairwa.
