Police have registered an FIR in Madhya Pradesh’s Burhanpur against three people after the family of a minor schoolgirl alleged that she was taken to a picnic spot on the pretext of going out.
The complaint was filed by the girl’s family along with members of the Hindu Jagran Manch. Police have detained the main accused, identified as Anas Ansari, and started an investigation into the incident.
Family Alleges Girl Was Taken While Going to School
According to the complaint, the girl was allegedly introduced to Anas by a female friend. The family said the girl was taken to a picnic spot while she was on her way to school.
The girl allegedly managed to leave the spot and returned home in an auto-rickshaw. After learning about the incident, members of the Hindu Jagran Manch accompanied the family to the police station, where a complaint was filed.
The girl’s allegations are being examined as part of the police investigation.
Three People Under Investigation
Police said three people have been booked in connection with the case. Apart from Anas, investigators are examining the role of the girl’s friend who allegedly introduced her to him and the auto-rickshaw driver who allegedly transported the minor.
Police have detained Anas for questioning. Officials said further action will be taken based on evidence gathered during the investigation.
Police Appeal for Calm
The incident has drawn the attention of local community groups, with Hindu Jagran Manch workers demanding quick action.
Police have appealed to the public not to spread speculation or draw conclusions before the investigation is completed. Officials said the allegations, circumstances and roles of those named in the FIR will be established based on statements and other evidence.
The investigation is currently underway.
