Muslim Teacher Dismissed After Allegedly Asking Hindu Student to Memorise Kalma at Hyderabad School

A private school in Hyderabad’s Saidabad has terminated a Muslim teacher after she allegedly assigned religious homework to Class 2 students, triggering protests and demands for action from the parents of a Hindu student and BJP leaders.

Success, The School, issued a termination letter to teacher Shaik Aisha Parveen, stating that her services had been ended over the incident.

The letter also said, “Further you are informed that you are permanently disqualified to apply for employment in future in the Success Group of Education Institutions.”

Parents Objected to Alleged Kalma Homework

The controversy began after the parents of a Class 2 Hindu student alleged that their child had been asked to memorise and recite the Kalma as part of a homework assignment. They claimed the child had earlier been given a similar task and approached the school management seeking an explanation.

The parents questioned why a student belonging to another faith was allegedly being asked to learn Islamic religious content as schoolwork and demanded action against those responsible.

The allegations quickly sparked public outrage and drew political attention.

School Takes Action Against Teacher

Following the complaint, the school management terminated Shaik Aisha Parveen from service.

In its termination order, the school not only ended her employment but also declared that she would be permanently ineligible for future employment in any institution run by the Success Group of Education.

The school has not issued any detailed public statement beyond the termination letter.

BJP Workers Protest, Police Detain Activists

The incident led to protests outside the school by BJP workers, who criticised the management and demanded legal action.

Police intervened at the protest site and detained several BJP activists, including BJP leader and advocate Karuna Sagar.

Speaking during the protest, Karuna Sagar said, “I have come here to question the police as to why no FIR has been registered. My demand is to arrest the principal who is forcing innocent students to read the Quran.”

Parents Accept School’s Action

Despite the controversy, the student’s parents later wrote to the school management stating that they accepted the action taken against the teacher as well as her apology.

The family also said they expected the school’s full cooperation to ensure that such incidents do not recur.
