Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi has extended support to Nishu Azad, a young woman who has alleged harassment of her family and accused the Delhi Police of failing to take action against those who allegedly attacked her father.
Azad had appealed to Gandhi for help, claiming that her father suffered a head injury after being attacked and that the accused continued to remain free despite the alleged assault.

Responding to her appeal on X, Gandhi wrote, “Nishu, there is no need to panic. I am with you.”
Gandhi also questioned Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah over the alleged police inaction. He asked why the accused was allegedly being protected by people associated with the BJP and called for action against those responsible.
“Why does such a criminal have the protection of you and the people in your party? Will there be action now, or will you keep shielding someone?” Gandhi wrote.
He also alleged that Delhi Police had shown “inhuman brutality” against students while the accused in the case involving Azad’s father was allegedly “roaming freely”.
Gandhi concluded his message by assuring Azad that she was not alone and said the fight would continue until justice was delivered.
“Your fight is not alone. We won’t stop until justice is served. Jai Bhim. Jai Constitution,” he wrote.
