PM Modi Files Nomination For Varanasi, Declares Assets Worth Rs 3.02 Crore, No Car or House Ownership

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, seeking re-election from the Varanasi Lok Sabha constituency, filed his nomination papers on Tuesday. His movable assets are valued at Rs 3.02 crore, with Rs 52,920 in cash. He doesn’t own any land, house, or car. Modi’s taxable income rose from Rs 11 lakh in 2018-19 to Rs 23.5 lakh in 2022-23. He holds a Fixed Deposit of Rs 2,85,60,338 in SBI and owns four gold rings worth Rs 2,67,750.

Sporting a white kurta-pajama and a blue Nehru jacket, Modi filed his nomination in Varanasi amidst the presence of several NDA leaders, including Union ministers and chief ministers. Earlier, he performed an aarti on the banks of the Ganga at the Dashashwamedh ghat and offered prayers at the Kaal Bhairav temple.

After filing his papers, Modi addressed local party leaders and workers at the Rudraksha Convention Centre. He urged them to make people aware of his government’s schemes and ensure that every booth records at least 370 more votes than the last general election, in celebration of the abrogation of Article 370.

Modi in a post on ‘X’, stated, “Filed my nomination papers as a candidate for the Varanasi Lok Sabha seat. It is an honour to serve the people of this historic seat. With the blessings of the people, there have been remarkable achievements over the last decade. This pace of work will get even faster in the times to come.”

Several prominent leaders from various political parties, including BJP president J P Nadda, Union ministers Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh, and others, accompanied Modi during the nomination filing process.
