Sambhal Authorities Cover Mosques, Deploy 1,000 Personnel and Drones Ahead of Holi

Sambhal authorities strengthen Holi security, covering mosques and monitoring Holika Dahan sites to maintain communal harmony.

Ahead of Holi, Sambhal district authorities have strengthened security to maintain communal harmony, including covering more than mosques with tarpaulin sheets to prevent colours from being thrown.

Mosques Protected, Holika Dahan Sites Monitored

Superintendent of Police Krishan Kumar Vishnoi said more than 10 mosques in the district have been covered with tarpaulin sheets to prevent colours from being thrown and to ensure that no community’s sentiments are hurt.

He added, “Security arrangements have been tightened across the district, and sensitive locations, including all ‘Holika Dahan’ sites, were inspected. A total of 1,215 places have been identified for Holika Dahan, and 64 processions will be taken out, all under drone surveillance.”

To strengthen security, three companies of the Provincial Armed Constabulary and around 200 recruit constables have been deployed in the district. Police also conducted a flag march as a preventive measure to maintain peace.

Teams and Vigilance in Place

District Magistrate Rajender Pensiya said 27 teams have been formed to oversee security arrangements. “More than 1,000 people have been deployed, and strict vigilance is being maintained throughout the district,” he said.

Officials said that these measures are aimed at ensuring the Holi celebrations are peaceful and that no community feels targeted during the festivities.
