In Azamgarh district of Uttar Pradesh, a seven-year-old Muslim boy, S*, was murdered, his body found packed in a sack and hung on a wire near a house gate, sparking outrage in the area. The child, son of Mukarram Ali from Pathan Tola under Sidhari police station, had gone missing earlier, prompting his family to alert the police. The family alleged that a young man Sandeep Nigam alias Mantu was behind the murder, claiming that the accused and his family were responsible.
S’s mother, overwhelmed with grief, appealed for justice, saying, “My son always said that when he grows up, he would serve the country and become a soldier. Who will fulfill his dreams now? I urge the government to take strict action against the murderer and his family.”
After the discovery of the body, a large crowd gathered, and angry residents blocked the road in protest. Police and PAC forces from five stations were deployed to calm the situation. The child’s body was sent for post-mortem.
Dr. Anil Kumar, SP Azamgarh, said, “A day earlier, we received information about the missing child. Forensic and dog squad teams were sent to the site along with the police and PAC. A case has been registered based on the family’s complaint, and the investigation is ongoing. The accused will be arrested soon.”
