SIO Condemns Telangana Police for Filing Charges Against EFLU Students in Palestine Solidarity March

Palestine ELFU SIO

The Students Islamic Organisation (SIO) of India has strongly condemned the Telangana Police for filing non-bailable charges against student leaders and union members of the English and Foreign Languages University (EFLU), who had organized a peaceful Palestine Solidarity March on campus. In a statement, Talha Mannan, National Campus Secretary of SIO, said, “The criminalization of students for expressing solidarity with the Palestinian people exposes the state’s growing intolerance towards democratic dissent, even in states not ruled by the BJP.”

The SIO criticized the police for allegedly siding with ABVP cadres who attacked the peaceful gathering, vandalized campus property, and harassed women students. Mannan added, “Such blatant misuse of state machinery to shield aggressors and silence student voices is unacceptable.”

The organisation expressed full support for the EFLU Students’ Union members and others targeted in the incident, demanding the immediate withdrawal of the FIR and action against those responsible for the violence and intimidation.
