Amid the controversy surrounding a Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) office in Nashik, families of the accused employees have alleged that the case is ‘scripted’ and part of a larger conspiracy, even as police continue their investigation into serious charges of sexual harassment and alleged religious conversion.
Families Allege ‘Scripted’ Case, Name Hindutva Groups
Speaking to the media, Razak Kazi, uncle of accused Raza Memon, claimed that multiple families are suffering due to what he described as a planned attempt to frame the accused.
“All the families are troubled. Everything is happening as per a conspiracy… The Bajrang Dal are involved in this… The girl’s family called them… Everything that happened was scripted,” Kazi alleged.
He further questioned the investigation process, claiming that one of the accused was initially let off but later re-arrested. According to him, the scope of the case has been unnecessarily expanded, dragging more individuals into the matter.
Echoing similar concerns, Bilal Fakir Mohammad Attar, father of another accused, said his son and others were being falsely implicated. “We are well-educated… Whatever is happening is wrong. It is not the fault of my son or any other child. They have been falsely implicated in a pre-planned manner. All the allegations are false,” he said.
What Police Say About the Case
Police in Nashik have registered multiple FIRs against employees of a TCS-linked BPO unit based on complaints filed by eight women employees. The complaints include allegations of sexual harassment, intimidation, and claims of coercion related to religion.
Officials say the action is based on “independent complaints” that indicate a pattern of misconduct over several years, from 2022 to 2026.
So far, at least seven employees have been arrested, including Danish Sheikh, Tausif Attar, Raza Memon, Shahrukh Qureshi, Shafi Sheikh, Asif Aftab Ansari, and HR manager Nida Khan. A Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been formed to probe the case, and the investigation is ongoing.
Police have maintained that the arrests and charges are based on evidence and statements collected during the probe.
Protests Planned Amid Rising Tensions
Meanwhile, right-wing groups including the Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal have called for protests over the issue. The demonstration is scheduled near a public landmark in the city and is being framed by the groups as opposition to what they describe as “corporate jihad,” “love jihad,” and “land jihad.”
