Pre-Wedding Shoot at Karnataka Temple Turns Violent; Photographers Beaten Over Wearing Shoes

A pre wedding photoshoot near Bettada Bhairaveshwara Temple in Karnataka turned violent after a group of locals allegedly assaulted photographers over objections related to temple rules.

The incident took place in Maragunda village in Sakleshpur taluk of Hassan, a region known for its scenic beauty and a popular destination for pre wedding shoots.

According to reports, a couple had arrived at the location along with photographers for a shoot when some individuals confronted them, objecting to photography inside the temple premises.

Argument Escalates Into Assault

Police said the confrontation began as a verbal argument but quickly escalated into physical violence. Locals allegedly accused the photographers of wearing shoes inside the temple, which they claimed hurt the sanctity of the place.

Soon, a group gathered at the spot and allegedly began beating the photographers. Cameras and phones were reportedly damaged during the incident.

Photographers Injured, Hospitalised

The injured photographers, identified as Navi and Nandan, were taken to Sakleshpur Taluk Hospital for treatment. They claimed that their equipment was severely damaged in the attack.

Police Action and Arrests

Police from the Sakleshpur Rural Police Station intervened and brought the situation under control.

Officials said a case has been registered and seven people have been arrested in connection with the assault. The accused, all from Mudigere taluk, have been identified as Ashi, Prashanth, Raksha, Aravind, Uchit, Prajwal, and Nishanth.
