A shooting incident on Wednesday night near a restaurant on Shilpgram Road in Tajganj has left one youth dead and another injured. The deceased, identified as 27-year-old Gulfam, worked at a relative’s restaurant, while the injured youth, Saif Ali, is also associated with a nearby restaurant.

What Happened?
Around midnight, Gulfam and his friends were outside the restaurant, preparing to close for the night, when three men on a scooter arrived at the spot. The attackers walked up to Gulfam, shot him at point-blank range, and then shot at Saif Ali, who was also injured in the assault. The assailants then brandished a pistol and fled the scene.

Local residents alerted the police immediately, and both victims were rushed to the hospital. Gulfam was declared dead, while Saif Ali is receiving medical treatment for his injuries. The police registered a case and began investigating the incident, scanning CCTV footage to identify the perpetrators.

Claim of Responsibility
A video surfaced on social media, where a man identified as Manoj Chaudhary, claiming to be associated with the Kshatriya Gau Raksha Dal, took responsibility for the shooting. In the video, Chaudhary stated, “2 Katu* were killed in Taj City Agra. Kshatriya Gau Raksha Dal takes responsibility for this. I swear in the name of Bharat Mata, if I do not take revenge of 26 with 2600, then I am not the son of Bharat Mata,” referring to the recent Pahalgam terror attack, which killed 26 people.

However, Agra police dismissed the claims, stating that the Kshatriya Gau Raksha Dal has no presence in Agra and that Manoj Chaudhary is not a local resident. Authorities suspect that the video is part of a public stunt and noted that the murder could be related to a dispute over food.

The police have started a probe into the incident, with efforts to trace the attackers. Reports suggest that the assailants may have first asked the names of Gulfam and Saif Ali before carrying out the attack.
