A woman from Lucknow has accused Mahigawan police and then sub-inspector Pramod of torturing her and forcing her to change her statement after she filed a complaint.

The woman claims that in March 2024, she was detained at the police station for two days, beaten, and subjected to electric shocks. According to her, police officials pressured her to sign a false statement and threatened her with death if she didn’t comply.

In a statement, the woman described how she was misled by her husband’s nephew, Nazish.

“My husband’s nephew came to my house and told me my father was injured in an accident. I left with Nazish, but instead of taking me to my father, he took me somewhere else and sexually assaulted me for about two months. When I objected, he said he would marry me and even took my phone. His father and uncle supported him,” she said.

On March 29, 2024, Nazish allegedly took the woman again, but they were intercepted by one of his uncles and handed over to the police.

“They tortured me and gave me electric shocks. They told me to change my statement or I would be killed. They made me sign a blank paper and sent it to my in-laws,” she added.

Despite filing a case in the Lucknow court, she claims that the police ignored her complaint, and when the case eventually moved forward, the names of the accused were removed.

The woman also stated that Nazish’s uncle, Imran, has been following her and threatening her to withdraw the case, warning that she would be killed if she didn’t comply.

“If anything happens to me, MD Imran, MD Waseem, MD Shakeel, and MD Nadeem will be responsible,” she said in her statement.

Nazish was jailed for two months but has continued to threaten her since his release.
