Amid growing controversy over alleged irregularities in donations at the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, senior religious leader Mahant Kamal Nayan Das on Thursday demanded a transparent and impartial investigation into the matter.
Das, who is the successor to Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust president Mahant Nritya Gopal Das, said any allegations related to misuse or mishandling of temple donations should be examined properly.
Speaking about the issue, he said the current situation was filled with allegations and counter-allegations, while concerns were also being raised over the credibility of the investigation itself.
“One side is making allegations against the other, while questions are also being raised over the integrity and transparency of those conducting the probe,” Das said.
He stressed that the investigation must be carried out in a fair and transparent manner so that people maintain trust in the process and the truth comes out clearly.

Donation Irregularity Claims Spark Controversy
The controversy surrounding Ram Mandir donations intensified after Mahipal Singh, who claims to have worked as the accounts in-charge at the temple, alleged that irregularities in donation collections had been taking place for a long time.
Singh also accused some individuals connected to the temple administration and claimed he was removed from his position after he raised concerns over the alleged financial issues.
The allegations have triggered wider discussions around financial transparency, accountability, and administrative oversight at the Ram Mandir.
Piyush Goyal Rejects Akhilesh Yadav’s Allegations
Meanwhile, Union Minister Piyush Goyal dismissed accusations made by Akhilesh Yadav over the donation controversy.
Speaking to reporters during his visit to Lucknow, Goyal said people in Uttar Pradesh do not take Akhilesh Yadav’s statements seriously.
“People of Uttar Pradesh do not take Akhilesh Yadav’s social media posts seriously, nor do they believe his allegations,” Goyal said.
The minister also criticised the previous Samajwadi Party government, accusing it of poor law and order, lack of development, and “politics of discrimination” during its tenure in Uttar Pradesh.
Expressing confidence ahead of the 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections, Goyal said the BJP government would return to power in the state.
RSS Seeks Report on Controversy
Sources said the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has also sought a detailed report on the developments surrounding the donation controversy.
According to reports, the review may include an examination of temple administration, management systems, and arrangements linked to the handling of donations and temple affairs.
