A Muslim teacher was suspended from higher primary school in Uttar Pradesh’s Bijnor district over allegations that she barred Hindu students from wearing tilak.

The suspension was followed by the allegations made by Basic Shiksha Adhikari (BSA) The teacher, Ayesha Parveen, was teaching at the school for nearly two decades.

Ayesha has called all the allegations “baseless.” Following her suspension, many students gathered around her to bid her goodbye on Tuesday. Children were seen sobbing as Ayesha bid farewell to her colleagues.

Reportedly, many students have decided to move out after Ayesha’s suspension.

In a video that went viral, surrounded by many kids, Ayesha, a hijab-wearing woman, consoles the students and tells them to work hard in the future.

Speaking to The Clarion India  about the allegations,  Ayesha said, “In my teaching experience of 30 years, I have never uttered such words.”

“One of my colleagues, Usha had strictly asked students not to wear a cap (topi) or a tilak in the school and I also affirmed it and told students that she is right. I have not said it, it’s Usha who said it,” she said.

Ayesha has now joined a new school on Wednesday while she awaits a report of the enquiry about the allegations she faces.

Calling the incident a ‘conspiracy against Muslims,’ Rajya Sabha MP Imran Pratapgarhi said, “ Such incidents are happening every day with goverment backing and the Government seems to enjoy it.”  “Every hatred has an end, this hatred will also be defeated,” he tweeted on X
