Exit Polls Predict Strong Lead for BJP in 2025 Delhi Assembly Elections, AAP Faces Setback

delhi elections 2025

Exit polls for the 2025 Delhi Assembly Elections suggest a shift in the political landscape, with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) projected to secure a decisive victory, while the ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) faces a major setback.

According to various exit polls, BJP+ is expected to win 43 seats, well above the majority mark of 36 in the 70-member assembly.

AAP, on the other hand, is projected to secure around 26 seats, a sharp decline from its 62 seats in the previous election. The Congress is likely to remain a marginal player, securing just 1 to 2 seats.

Poll-wise Breakdown:

JVC: BJP 39-45 seats, AAP 22-31 seats, Congress 0-2 seats

Matrize: BJP 35-40 seats, AAP 32-37 seats, Congress 0-1 seat

P-Marq: BJP 39-49 seats, AAP 21-31 seats, Congress 0-1 seat

People’s Insight: BJP 40-44 seats, AAP 25-29 seats, Congress 0-2 seats

People’s Pulse: BJP 51-60 seats, AAP 10-19 seats, Congress 0-2 seats

Chanakya Strategies: BJP 39-44 seats, AAP 25-28 seats, Congress 2-3 seats

BJP’s Strong Performance

If these predictions hold, the BJP is poised to return to power in Delhi after more than a decade, overturning AAP’s stronghold. The BJP’s focus on national security, governance, and development may have played a key role in influencing voter sentiment.

AAP’s Declining Fortunes

Arvind Kejriwal’s AAP, which had secured a landslide victory in 2020 with 62 out of 70 seats, is now expected to face a major setback. Despite its efforts in sectors like education and healthcare, the party appears to be losing ground in this election.

Congress Remains a Marginal Player

The Congress, which once dominated Delhi politics, continues to struggle for relevance. All exit polls predict a near-wipeout, with minimal seat projections for the party.

While exit polls offer an early glimpse into the trends, the final results will be determined when votes are officially counted.
