Bollywood singer Sonu Nigam’s live concert at Delhi Technological University’s (DTU) Engifest 2025 faced instances of stone pelting, according to reports. The show began well but soon spiraled out of control. Students allegedly threw stones and plastic bottles at the stage.
Nigam stopped singing and addressed the crowd. He said, “I have come here for you so that we can all have a good time. I’m not asking you to stop enjoying, but please don’t do this.”
He also warned that his team could get hurt if the behavior continued. Soon after, the situation came under control. Nigam resumed performing and finished the show without further problems.
However, no video of the stone-pelting incident has emerged yet. Meanwhile, on Instagram, Nigam shared clips of his lively performance but avoided mentioning the disturbance.
Earlier, in February, he faced a similar issue in Kolkata. The crowd kept standing and interrupting his concert. Frustrated, Nigam snapped, saying, “If you want to stand, go stand in elections! Please sit down. Quickly… my time is running out.”
That video also went viral, adding to the singer’s recent streak of public run-ins with crowds.
As for his musical roots, Nigam trained under his father, singer Agam Kumar Nigam. He also took classical lessons from Ustad Ghulam Mustafa Khan.
