India and Pakistan exchanged fire along the Line of Control (LoC) as the United Nations urged both sides to exercise “maximum restraint,” warning of the risk of wider military escalation following the deadly attack in Kashmir’s Pahalgam town.

This marked the third consecutive night that Pakistan resorted to unprovoked firing along the LoC, Indian officials said.”

On the intervening night of April 26-27, Pakistan Army posts initiated unprovoked small arms fire across the LoC in areas opposite the Tutmari Gali and Rampur sectors,” officials stated.

The Indian Army retaliated “effectively with appropriate small arms fire,” they added.

The situation along the border remains tense as authorities continue to monitor developments closely.
