Three Muslim youths were attacked in Uttar Pradesh’s Hapur district on Tuesday when a group of men stopped them on the road, asked their names, and then beat them with iron rods and sticks. The victims, identified as Wasim, Rizwan, and Aamir, were returning from Pilkhuwa after finishing some personal work when the assault took place near Paratapur.

Wasim, a resident of Kalchina in Ghaziabad, was critically injured in the attack. Doctors at a private hospital in Pilkhuwa said he has been admitted to the emergency ward and his condition remains serious. Rizwan and Aamir also suffered injuries but are stable.

The victims’ family has filed a complaint at the Pilkhuwa police station, naming the accused as Deepak, Nikhil, JJ Kant, and Pankaj. Wasim’s brother alleged, “They stopped my brother and his friends, asked their names, and then attacked them with the intention to kill. We want the police to arrest them immediately and take strict action.”

The attack created panic in the area, and locals expressed anger over the incident. A villager said, “Such a brutal assault in broad daylight has spread fear. If the attackers are not punished quickly, it will only encourage more such crimes.”

Hapur SP Kunwar Gyananjay Singh said the police are treating the case very seriously. “The accused will not be spared. Teams have been sent to their possible hideouts, and strict action will be taken. We will also provide full support to the victim’s family,” he said.

Police have launched a search to arrest the accused, while tension remains high in the locality following the attack.
