In Shamli, Uttar Pradesh, a young man was arrested after a video of him demonstrating with “I Love Mohammad” written on his chest went viral on social media. The incident occurred in the Sadar Kotwali area and Kudana village.
The accused, identified as Dilshad, reportedly walked through town and village streets holding a tricolour flag and made a video reel set to music, which he shared on Instagram. According to reports, he staged the demonstration following tensions in Bareilly over the same slogan.
Police registered a case based on a complaint by Nishikant Sangal, who alleged that Dilshad had abused him during the demonstration. Shamli CO Amardeep Maurya said that Dilshad was arrested and sent to jail, and further statutory action is being taken. Authorities said they are also investigating the motives behind his demonstration and whether any further activities were planned.
