Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday extended warm greetings to the nation on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr, wishing for peace, happiness, and harmony across the country. The festival is being celebrated across India today following the end of the holy month of Ramadan.
In a message shared on social media, Modi said, “Best wishes on Eid-ul-Fitr. May this day further brotherhood and kindness all around. May everyone be happy and healthy. Eid Mubarak!” His message highlighted the spirit of unity and compassion associated with the festival.
President Murmu Calls for Unity and Harmony
President Droupadi Murmu also greeted citizens on the eve of Eid, urging people to strengthen the values of unity and social harmony. She said that Eid, which marks the end of Ramadan, carries an important message of self-discipline, charity, and compassion for the underprivileged.
She said the festival reflects the ideals of love, peace, and mutual respect, and encouraged citizens to contribute towards the nation’s progress by upholding these values.
Leaders Highlight Spiritual Significance of Eid
Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah described Eid as a spiritually significant occasion that comes after a month of fasting, prayers, and self-discipline during Ramadan. He said the festival is a time to express gratitude to the Almighty and celebrate values such as compassion, generosity, and unity.
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. K. Stalin also extended greetings and underlined his party’s stance on safeguarding the rights of minorities. In his message, he said, “Whenever the Union BJP government brings laws against the Islamic people, we have been fighting strongly against them in the people’s forum and in the Parliament.”

Bahujan Samaj Party chief Mayawati conveyed her wishes to the Muslim community and expressed hope that they continue to enjoy the freedoms guaranteed under the Constitution.
