Madrassas across Uttar Pradesh are joining Independence Day celebrations under the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign, with students taking part in Tiranga Yatras and other patriotic activities.

In Maharajganj district, more than 500 students of Madrasa Aljami Atul Nizamia in Sonauli, near the India-Nepal border, participated in a Tiranga Yatra on Thursday. Teachers and Maulanas also joined the procession.

Students carried the national flag and sang patriotic songs as they marched through the area.

Appeal to Hoist Tricolour in Every Home

Afzal Ansari, a teacher at the madrasa, said the procession was organised following government instructions.

“Like every year, this year too, a Tiranga Yatra has been taken out from the madrasa on the instructions of the government. More than 500 students have participated in it,” he said.

As part of the campaign, students also distributed tricolours among residents and appealed to people to hoist the national flag at their homes.

The madrasa is also preparing cultural programmes, including rangoli competitions, speeches and other activities ahead of Independence Day.

UP Government Encourages Madrassa Participation

The initiative follows directions from Uttar Pradesh Minority Welfare Minister Danish Azad Ansari, who asked madrassas across the state to participate in the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign.

The minister also encouraged students and young people studying at these institutions to take an active part in Independence Day celebrations.

The celebrations come ahead of August 15, when India will mark its Independence Day. Madrassas participating in the campaign are organising flag-hoisting events, Tiranga Yatras and cultural programmes aimed at encouraging students to take part in national celebrations.
