Three people arrested in connection with the July 24, 2026, student protest in Kolkata have been granted bail with legal assistance from the Association for Protection of Civil Rights (APCR).

The three individuals are Shahbaz Khan of Bright Street, Mohsin Khan of Beck Bagan, and Arshad Ali, also known as Sajid, from Keshab Chandra Sen Street. They were among the 18 people arrested following the student protest.

According to APCR, the organisation provided legal support to the accused from the beginning of the case, ensuring they received legal representation and assistance throughout the court proceedings.

The legal team, led by Advocate Syed Nafirul Islam and Advocate Altamash Haider, represented the accused and successfully secured their bail.

In a statement, APCR said the development reflects its continued commitment to protecting constitutional rights, ensuring due process, and providing legal aid to people facing legal proceedings.

The organisation said it will continue to extend legal assistance in cases where it believes individuals require support to ensure fair legal representation.
