A video showing BJP workers celebrating their candidate’s recent victory has gone viral, causing distress in Karopadi village. The video captures the workers chanting “Jai Sri Ram” and “Jai Modi” provocatively in front of the Karopadi mosque in Karnataka’s Dakshina Kannada district

The celebrations were in honour of Captain Brijesh Chowta, who won the Lok Sabha elections in the Dakshina Kannada constituency. The video, widely shared on social media, has upset the local community and sparked controversy.

Many people online are questioning why the police did not take action on their own in this case, while they did so for an incident involving offering namaz on the road near a mosque in Kankanady, Mangaluru.

Brijesh Chowa, a former Indian Army Captain, emerged victorious in the election, defeating the Congress candidate Padmaraj R. Poojary. Chowa secured 7,64,132 votes, which accounts for 53.97% of the total votes cast. On the other hand, Padmaraj R. Poojary garnered 6,14,924 votes, constituting 43.43% of the votes.
