Delhi Police has registered an FIR against Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Amanatullah Khan and others for allegedly helping an accused escape from custody.
The case has been filed at Jamia Nagar Police Station under several sections, including obstructing government work.
A Delhi Police team went to Amanatullah Khan’s house for questioning but did not find him there. Officers checked inside before leaving.
“We went to his house to question him, but he was not there. We are trying to trace him,” a police officer said.
Amanatullah Khan represents Okhla in the Delhi Assembly. He won the 2020 election with 88,943 votes, defeating BJP’s Manish Chaudhary by 23,639 votes. AIMIM’s Shifa ur Rehman and Congress’ Ariba Khan came third and fourth, respectively.
