In Maharashtra’s Amravati, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat addressed concerns over the resurgence of temple-mosque disputes, which have been threatening communal harmony. Bhagwat said that all acts of persecution and atrocities committed in the name of religion stem from a lack of true understanding of Dharma.”

Dharma has always existed, governing the workings of the world, and that’s why it is called ‘Sanatan’ (eternal). An improper understanding of Dharma leads to Adharma,” Bhagwat said. He pointed out that the practice of Dharma itself ensures its protection, and that various reformative sects in the religion have played an important role in this.

He further said that no religion teaches division but instead imparts the wisdom of uniting people.

“Unity is eternal. The whole universe is one. Practicing non-violence protects Dharma. When we truly understand Dharma, we will have tranquillity, equality, unity, and prosperity,” he said.

Bhagwat also remarked that while even those without formal education can understand Dharma, it is often the educated individuals, filled with self-pride over their knowledge, who fail to grasp its essence.
