Iran’s powerful military wing, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), has publicly thanked the people of Kashmir while announcing fresh drone operations, as the conflict in West Asia continues to escalate.
In a message shared alongside its latest drone launches, the IRGC said, “We are grateful to you, the Kashmiri people, from the depths of our hearts for your support; and we will take revenge on your behalf from the killers of our leader.”
The statement comes in the backdrop of rising solidarity actions in Kashmir following the reported killing of Ali Khamenei in joint US-Israel strikes.
Massive Protests Across Kashmir
Days earlier, tens of thousands of people across the Kashmir Valley took to the streets in protest. Demonstrations were reported in Srinagar, Budgam, Pulwama, Baramulla, Bandipora and parts of Ladakh.
Large gatherings were seen at Lal Chowk, where crowds carried black flags and portraits of Khamenei, raising slogans against the United States and Israel. Many mourners described him as a spiritual figure, with emotional scenes of grief reported across the Valley.
Donations Pour In After Eid
Alongside protests, a major humanitarian campaign has emerged in support of Iran.
Residents across districts have redirected traditional Eid celebrations into relief efforts. Volunteers announced donation drives at mosques and Eidgahs after Eid prayers, which quickly gained momentum.
People from different backgrounds, including farmers, traders and local leaders, contributed money, gold, silver, livestock and even vehicles. Local reports suggest that collections may have crossed ₹500 crore within a week.
IRGC Message Adds New Dimension
The IRGC’s statement thanking Kashmiris has added a geopolitical dimension to these developments, linking local solidarity with the broader regional conflict.
The message also reflects Iran’s narrative of resistance and retaliation, as tensions with the US and Israel continue to intensify.
Iran Rejects US Peace Proposal
Meanwhile, Iran has rejected a US-backed 15-point proposal aimed at ending the war. According to reports, Tehran described the plan as “maximalist and unreasonable.”
Iran outlined its own conditions for ending the conflict, including a complete halt to attacks, guarantees against future aggression, payment of war reparations, and recognition of its sovereignty over the Strait of Hormuz.
Continued Military Escalation
Despite talk of diplomacy, the conflict remains active. Iranian missile strikes have triggered alerts across Israel, while US and Israeli forces have continued targeting sites in Iran and beyond.
Israeli operations have also expanded into southern Lebanon, with airstrikes reported in Beirut.
