Jammu youth killed

Two policemen from the District Special Branch in Jammu have been suspended following the killing of a youth, Mohammad Parvez, in the Sure Chak area.

According to an order Head Constable Baljinder Singh and Selection Grade Constable Pawan Singh were removed from active duty after an FIR (No. 153/2025) was registered at Satwari Police Station. The case includes sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Arms Act.

Both officers have been asked to report to the District Police Lines in Jammu and hand over their uniforms. They will receive subsistence allowance as per rules while under suspension.A Special Investigation Team (SIT), led by a Deputy Superintendent of Police, has been formed to look into the incident. This comes after the victim’s family accused the police of carrying out a fake encounter and demanded a fair and time-bound inquiry.

Former Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti also called for accountability. “This incident must be investigated quickly and transparently,” she said.
