A man with a criminal history was arrested on Monday, a day after he allegedly assaulted a tribal youth and forced him to tie his shoelaces in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. The incident, which took place following a road altercation, was captured on CCTV, according to police.
The accused, identified as Ritesh Rajput, reportedly attacked the tribal man during a driving dispute in the Bhanwarkuan area on Sunday morning. “Ritesh Rajput has a criminal past, with at least ten cases of loot and assault pending against him,” said Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Anand Yadav.
A new case has been registered against Rajput under the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita and the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act for the Sunday incident.
When the police took Rajput to the crime scene, he was seen holding his ears and repeatedly admitting, “I made a mistake.”
