In Madhya Pradesh’s Indore district, authorities have imposed the National Security Act (NSA) on two men arrested in a cow slaughter case linked to Eid-ul-Azha. The incident took place on May 29 in Mhow, where a case was registered against four accused persons.

Police identified the accused as Qadir, Imran, Hashim, and Mohammad Abad. According to officials, Qadir was arrested at the spot, while the remaining accused initially absconded.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Umakant Chaudhary said, “A case was registered against four men on charges of cow slaughter on Eid day. One accused was arrested immediately, while others were on the run.”

Second Arrest and NSA Order

Later, another accused, Mohammad Abad, was arrested by the police. Following the arrests, the Superintendent of Police submitted a report to the district collector recommending action under the National Security Act.

Based on this report, the district administration ordered NSA action against the two arrested accused on Tuesday (June 2).

“The Collector has ordered NSA proceedings against the accused. Further action will be taken as per law,” DSP Chaudhary said.

Officials also stated that the accused have multiple previous cases registered against them, including allegations related to cow slaughter and disturbing public order.

Search for Remaining Accused

Two accused, identified as Imran and Hashim, are still absconding. Police teams have been deployed across the district to trace and arrest them.

A Special Investigation Team (SIT) has also been formed to speed up the investigation. Senior police officials said coordinated efforts are underway to locate the remaining accused.

Authorities have also invoked sections of the Madhya Pradesh Cow Slaughter Prohibition Act, along with provisions of the Arms Act, as part of the case.
