PM Modi Warns of Demographic Change in Jharkhand, Calls for 'Parivartan' to Stop Adivasi and Hindu Decline

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday expressed concern over the declining population of Hindus and Adivasis in Jharkhand, accusing the JMM-led coalition government of indulging in divisive “vote bank politics” that supports infiltrators, threatening the state’s cultural and historical identity. Modi called for urgent change to protect “mati, beti, roti” (land, daughters, and livelihoods) and urged the removal of such political forces.

Addressing a BJP rally marking the end of the Parivartan Yatra, which covered 5,400 km across all 81 assembly constituencies ahead of the state elections, Modi warned that Jharkhand’s identity was under threat. He accused the JMM and its Congress allies of betraying the tribal community and attempting to reduce them to a minority by encouraging the rise of illegal Bangladeshi infiltrators.

Modi highlighted the growing infiltration problem in regions like Santhal Pargana, where he claimed that infiltrators were displacing the tribal population and seizing their land. He criticized the state government for filing court affidavits denying the infiltration problem, despite the High Court raising concerns.

Modi further linked the ruling coalition to widespread corruption, alleging that the JMM was exploiting state resources for personal gain while failing to protect its people.

The Prime Minister also accused the Congress and RJD of ignoring tribal contributions to India’s independence and fostering a culture of dynastic rule.

He said the BJP had restored dignity to tribal icons by declaring Birsa Munda’s birth anniversary as Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas and protecting the rights of SC, ST, and OBC communities.

He further pointed that the JMM-led government had become a hub for corruption, citing scams, recruitment scandals, and exploitation of land resources and promised that if the BJP returned to power, it would protect Jharkhand’s land, daughters, and livelihoods, while leading the state toward progress.
